COVID-19: 276 Indian including 255 in Iran tests positive, confirms MEA

A total of 276 Indian nationalities have been tested positive as being infected by the deadly novel coronavirus across the globe, as said by the Centre on Wednesday.
V Muraleedharan who is the Minister of State for External Affairs has said in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha where in he has mentioned that cases being recorded as Iran has reported a vast majority of 255 people with the others in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Italy, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and Rwanda.
The officials of the External Affairs Ministry has said on Tuesday that they could not ,make a confirmation regarding the number whether there are more than 250 Indians in Iran have been tested positive for the deadly novel COVID-19 but he has acknowledged that they have been aware of such a list of people being circulated.
Dammu Ravi who is Additional Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs has told the reporters that it is possible to find cases of being tested as positive for the deadly novel coronavirus as it has been spreading at an alarming rate all across the world.
He has also assured that the mission is taking each and very care that is needed by the people in cooperating and coordinating with the government of Iran in order to safeguard the Indians in Iran and that a lot of attention is also being given to the Indian nationals by the ambassador.
The Ministry of External Affairs has said in a response that it cannot be confirmed regarding the number of Indians who have been tested positive for the deadly novel coronavirus as 250 in number and also whether the list which is being circulated is authentic or not, as said in a response to a question which was about the media that has been claiming that more than 250 Indians in Iran have been tested positive as being i9nfected by the deadly novel COVID-19.
